DAF YAZ 2300

The DAF YAZ 2300, better known as ten tonner, is a heavy truck for transport of heavy stuff like ammunition and building materials.

Both landforce, airforce, navy and militairy police of the Royal Dutch Army has used the Y-2300 series truck.

The YAZ 2300 is a tactical vehicle and is verry useful for transport in the field. Also his six-wheel-drive, differential wich can be blocked in lenght and width and his solid leafs makes the truck verry useful in terrain.

The engine of the YAZ 2300 is a 245 hp strong 6 cylinder and has a volume of 8250 cc. Motortype is DAF DHS825. This engine was build since 1976.



The standard type of the YAZ 2300 has a open bucket and a HIAB 965/90 hydraulic loading crane to load and unload heavy materials.

Armament is possible on the roof of the cabine (MAG 7.62mm machine-gun).

The DAF YAZ 2300 is used for many paece operations as UNPROFOR, SFOR, KFOR etc. and disaster areas as Poland during the water emergency dicaster. At this moment there are DAF YAZ 2300's used by humanitarian organizations as the World Food Programme.
